This Sunday, our Hair Professional Spring/Summer 2015 photo shoot took place. The theme was ‘Spice’ and really embraced technology this time, creating a Pinterest board to share ideas within the team and also with the models and the photographer. We all owe a massive Thank you to Amy for project managing the shoot so well. It was a great day for everyone involved and the lovely Claire Johnson (www.clairejohnsonphotography) really looked after us and made us all feel really comfortable. We had 5 fab models, a couple below the age of 18. We also homed in on nails, lips and eyes for the first time.
Before the shoot, our models come in for their cuts, treatments, colours, etc. If they didn’t want any long lasting colour (and some couldn’t have it because of their age) we had to improvise. There are some great ways of adding colour temporarily, from a watery ‘stain’ called a Perfecton Rinse to a spray on, thickening powder called Mane, usually used to cover up roots in between colour appointments.
We really pulled out all the stops this time, even buying hair pieces and wefts which we coloured ourselves and used to add, length and texture. Luckily, Redken launched a mini collection of new products called ‘Fashion Collection’ just before the shoot so we were able to use them too. They were ‘Stay High’ gel mousse (brilliant for gravity defying volume), ‘Braid Aid’ (an amazing product to make plaiting easier as well as long lasting) and ‘Metal Fix’ (gold and silver hair paint which is right on trend).
We can’t wait to see Claire’s finished shots but in the meantime, here’s a sneaky peak….
