Colour Trends July Blog

Here’s a few years of the looks that Colour Specialist Mertice has been working on lately…

Hayley, who is one of the team here at Hair Professional, recently decided that she wanted a colour change ready for the summer. She wanted to go from a vibrant bright red to a soft, and much lighter copper. She was thrilled with the results and there are some pictures below for you to take a look at.

A client of mine – Emma – also came to me a few months ago wanting a rather dramatic colour change. She was already a deep intense red that had faded slightly with long regrowth. This meant that there was a long process that we needed to go through to achieve her desired colour – a vivid violet. After 8 hours of various techniques we achieved a colour that we were both happy with. Pictures of that coming soon…

This week Emma came back into the salon for a refresh of her colour. She had stuck to the advice she had been given and as her colour faded she had used purple shampoo leaving us with the perfect base to play around with new toners on. This time we did a softer lilac at the roots and dragged it into her silver ends leaving her with a soft fading effect.

Pastels are still on trend especially with the festivals at the moment. There is an array of possibilities for festival inspired pastel: candy coated looks, lavender, sky blue , rose golds, soft corals, mint green and many more. Pastels are something that can be applied to lightened hair whether in pieces, ombres or all over. They look fantastic on braids too which leads me on to my next blog. The braiding trend also very big right now and the introduction of colour really brings the braid to life. Watch out for my next blog in a month’s time.
